I’m a wife, mother, teacher and writer. I love to travel. I love to read. I firmly believe that the first amendment protects the United States, and without it, we will fail. I believe the student newspaper is the last bastion of free speech in public schools today, and protecting that freedom is absolutely essential. I believe the school yearbook serves as the archive for the school, and it is essential to keep our memories. I believe in playing devil’s advocate in the classroom, in challenging my students to question authority. I believe students should be encouraged to read works that challenge them, and they should be pushed to break through their comfort zones. I believe students learn as much from educational travel as they do in four years of history class. I believe I make a difference every single day, and it’s my job to make sure that happens.
